Who We Are

Our Story

Established in 1966, Faith Lutheran Brethren Church (FLBC) was founded and built largely through volunteer labor by the congregation’s original twelve families. It was originally located in Scarsdale and held its first service on October 8, 1967.

A nursery-school program, the Little School began in 1972.

We are passionate about knowing Christ and sharing His message with the world.

FLBC is a church where you can:

  • Grow in your faith through worship, Bible study, and fellowship.
  • Connect with others who share your Christian values.
  • Discover your gifts and use them to serve God and others.

Our Mission

Faith Lutheran Brethren Church is a local expression of the Body of Christ committed to fulfilling Christ's Great Commission to make disciples. As a Lutheran Brethren congregation, our call is to present Jesus Christ to the Westchester County community and to provide an environment in which the Holy Spirit works his regenerating and renewing power in the believer. Our mission is to see each believer grow into their full stature in Christ and to equip each believer for the work of service to which the Holy Spirit has called and empowered them.

Our mission includes joining with other congregations of the Lutheran Brethren Church exercising gifts of grace locally and in Home and World Missions

Our Values

We are a Lutheran Brethren Church, which means we hold to the core teachings of Christianity as expressed in the Bible.

  • We believe in the Trinity – Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit – and in

the salvation of all people through faith in Jesus Christ.

  • The Word of God is the focus of our worship services, the textbook for our teaching ministries, and the foundation of our daily lives.
  • We want the Good News of God’s grace to us in Jesus Christ to be the centerpiece of our mission. The Good News is God’s power, which saves us, draws us together and motivates us for service.
  • We are called by the love of Christ to share His Gospel. Our mission is as local

as our neighborhood and as universal as the whole world.
